Acknowledgements

Visible Needs is built on work other people gave away. This page records what we redistribute and the notices that come with it. It is about software and assets inside the product — the companies that process your data are listed separately, on Subprocessors.

Typefaces

Both are served from our own servers rather than from a font CDN, so no request for a font leaves our infrastructure or reaches a third party when you load a page. Self-hosting means we redistribute them, and both are licensed under the SIL Open Font License 1.1, whose terms we follow: the licence and its copyright notice travel with every copy in our source tree.

Software

The app and this website are built with open-source packages — React, React Native, Expo, Next.js, Supabase’s client libraries and their dependencies, overwhelmingly under the MIT, ISC and Apache 2.0 licences. We compile against them rather than redistributing their source.

The complete list — every package, its licence and its copyright notice — is generated from the software we actually install, and is on the Licences page.

The mark

The Visible Needs symbol and wordmark are not open-source components. They were commissioned for this project and are the subject of a Swiss trade mark application. Please do not reuse them.

Updated 25 October 2026. The font notices on this page are checked on every build, so a typeface that arrives without its licence fails the build rather than reaching this page. If something here is wrong or missing an attribution, we want to know: get in touch.
